akureyri, iceland
june 26 - july 3, 2027
Akureyri, North Iceland has been one of Iceland’s best kept secrets. Now the secret is out: in 2015, Akureyri was voted the number one destination in Europe by Lonely Planet. Akureyri’s mild climate on the longest fjord in the country and its close proximity to the Arctic Circle make it a must-see destination.
During our week, we’ll stay at a local hotel reserved for only our group. Classes will be held each morning in our private yoga space—complete with sauna, Jacuzzi, massage, and an exceptional view of the fjord and nearby mountains. After lunch on most days, we’ll explore the island’s incredible landscapes, venturing on breathtaking hikes, visiting frozen waterfalls, and taking a star-lit soak in the famous Myvatn Nature Baths.
The retreat will include:
Use of wellness center / yoga space for daily morning classes
Group transfers from Akureyri airport
Private transportation to housing, yoga classes and excursions
Starting with dinner on the first night, all breakfasts, lunches and 4 dinners
Ferry ride and walking tour / hike on Hrisey Island
Horseback riding excursion
Myvatn full day with spa entrance fees. Includes Godafoss waterfall, lava landscapes, pseudo craters, dinner overlooking Dimmuborgir, a soak in volcanic hot springs and more
Akureyri excursion to a local magical forest nature preserve (complete with hidden elves!) and other surprises
Midnight Sun outing on the most favorable night (click HERE for sample itinerary)
